Lenny Zenith was a staple in the New Orleans punk/new-wave scene, and in New York’s 90s indie rock scene.
Tenterhooks recorded their debut EP “Meanwhile…in another part of town” at [the end] studios in Brooklyn (Dirty Projectors, Kaiser Chiefs). Recently profiled on Vice.com, Lenny Zenith will also be featured in the documentary film about the early New Orleans punk scene entitled ‘Almost Ready.’
In the 90s Zenith’s NYC based noise-pop act Jenifer Convertible had two critically-acclaimed 7” vinyl singles, and a CD entitled ‘Wanna Drag’ released in 1997, produced by Wharton Tiers. Lenny’s bands have opened for touring acts as diverse as U2, Iggy Pop. XTC, The Selecter, Gun Club, and Gang of Four among others.
