A few years ago when my mom visited Ann Arbor, I dragged her down to my studio to casually record a fews songs (karaoke style). She can REALLY sing and had her own radio show in Cuba before the revolution! She’s backed by a track I found of the U.S. Marine Corps playing the Cuban National anthem (obviously when we were still speaking to the nearby island). Have a listen!
Gun Lake - Lovely songs, w/ a lovely voice, plaintive and wistful as it gets. Mark Fain writes beautiful songs, lovingly recorded (by Ben Collins of Lightning Love and Hounds Below) with aching harmonies from Ben and Aaron Diehl (also of Lightning Love).

“…and it captures that stretched and blown apart haunted aura of banshee tones and head-swimming echoes (“Lord is my Gun”) like some brooding broad shouldered ghost might check you through a plate-glass window…” Jeff Milo
Here’s a couple of tracks from their latest release
Keeping the love local. Michigan artists need and desrve national attention!
I have ‘ins’ with several of Detroit and Ann Arbor’s premiere groups and songwriters, let me know if you’d like to know more about who they are, and who’s making the buzz as of today!
I would love to introduce you to this new band, but they’re so hot, I have to keep their name a secret! Write to me and I will send you a login/pasword to sample some of their music!
